"First Meeting"

At the airport in New Zealand, you and your friend Sia are weaving through the crowd, buzzing with excitement for the vacation ahead. Your eyes are scanning the signs, but before you can take another step, you slam into someone rushing by. The man doesn’t even slow down, let alone apologize. He just keeps moving, leaving you standing there, fuming.

“Rude much?” you mutter under your breath, glaring at his retreating back.

Just as you're about to regain your composure, another man almost bulldozes right into you. Before you can react, Sia pulls you aside with the grace of a secret agent. Instead of letting him pass, she steps right into his path. With a devilish smirk, she deliberately tilts her coffee cup just enough to send a stream of icy liquid down his shirt.

The man halts, his face a perfect picture of shock and disbelief. “Are you kidding me?” he splutters, glancing down at the spreading stain. He mutters something under his breath—probably not anything nice—and shoots Sia a death glare that would make lesser mortals quake.

But not Sia.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” she says, her tone dripping with sarcasm. “Next time, watch where you’re going, Mr. Speedy Gonzales.”

The man just stands there, looking like he’s torn between throwing a fit and running away. After a beat, he opts for the latter, stomping off in a huff but not before giving Sia one last glare.

As soon as he’s out of earshot, Sia bursts into laughter, “Did you see his face? Priceless!”

You give her a mock scolding look, but the corner of your lips betrays a smirk. “You’re going to get us kicked out of the airport one day.”

“Pfft,” Sia waves you off. “They’d be doing us a favor. I’m already bored here. Plus, that guy totally deserved it. Who runs around an airport like it’s a marathon?”

You roll your eyes but can’t help chuckling. “Only you, Sia. Only you.”

“Hey, if I didn’t do it, you would’ve,” she counters, giving you a playful nudge.

You shrug. “Maybe. But I wouldn’t have done it so… dramatically.”

“Dramatic is my middle name, sweetheart,” she says with a wink.

Shaking your head, you two finally make your way to the luggage claim. You’ve barely stepped foot in New Zealand, and Sia’s already causing chaos. This vacation is definitely going to be anything but not boring.

As you and Sia stand outside the airport, the sun beginning to dip, Sia lets out an exasperated growl. You glance over at her, giving her a tight-lipped smile, but it’s clear she’s not amused.

“Where is your comfortable, cheap so-called cab, Yn?” Sia snaps, crossing her arms over her chest. “It’s been 45 minutes, and we’re still stuck here.”

You huff, blowing your bangs out of your face in frustration. “It’s coming. The driver said he’s stuck in traffic.”

Sia narrows her eyes at you, her tone dripping with sarcasm. “Babe, is it coming today, or should I lay my bed here?”

You shoot her a glare, but before you can respond, the cab finally pulls up in front of you. Relief washes over you as you step forward to greet the driver. “Hello,” you say, reaching for the door handle. But as your fingers touch the metal, another hand grabs it simultaneously.

You look up, and your eyes widen in surprise. It’s the same man who bumped into you earlier.  He gives you a polite smile. “I believe this is our cab, miss. You must have misunderstood.”

Your eyes narrow. “Sir, you must have forgotten your cab number. This is ours.”

Just then, another figure appears beside him—none other than the guy Sia had baptized with cold coffee. He’s glaring at Sia, but he quickly turns to you, holding up his phone. “We booked this cab, and we have proof,” he says, his tone almost smug as he shows you the booking records.

You glance at his phone, then pull out your own to show him your records. “Well, it seems like there’s been a mix-up because we booked the same cab.”

Before the situation can escalate, you both hear the sound of the cab’s back door closing. You turn around to see Sia, grinning like the Cheshire Cat.

She’s loaded your bags and without missing a beat, she pushes you gently aside, opens the cab door, and nudges you inside before hopping in herself. You barely have time to settle into your seat before she slams the door shut.

Both men stand there, their expressions a mix of shock and disbelief, as if they can’t quite process what just happened. Sia leans out of the window, flashing them a smug grin.

“So, Mr. Speedy Gonzales,” she says mockingly, “please move aside because we have important business to take care of.”

The man groans in frustration, his patience clearly wearing thin. “It’s Kim Taehyung for you, lady,” he says, his voice laced with annoyance.

Sia lets out a loud, exaggerated laugh. “Oh, so you’re Korean too?” she says, raising an eyebrow. “Should’ve known. Only a Korean man would argue this much over a cab. Just like arguing about ‘Who bought the last ramen in the store?’ She adds with a dramatic flair, “So, do you want to debate that too, or are you going to let us get to our hotel?”

Even you can’t help but stifle a laugh at that one, and Taehyung’s friend’s expression softens, almost as if he’s holding back a smile himself. Sia finally leans back into the cab, rolling her eyes playfully. “Please, take us to Palm Paradise” she says as if the men aren’t even there.

The cab starts to pull away, and as you look back, you see Taehyung and his friend standing there, dumbfounded and speechless.

Taehyung and his friend exchange glances, clearly stunned by what just happened. Finally, Taehyung sighs, pulling out his phone to book another cab. “We should’ve just walked,” he mutters.

As the cab drives away, you and Sia burst into laughter, knowing this vacation is off to a chaotic but entertaining start.

You glance at her, shaking your head in disbelief. “You really have no filter, do you?”

Sia grins. “Nope. That’s why you love me.”

As you and Sia stroll through the scenic spot you’ve chosen for the day, you can’t help but pull out your camera. The breathtaking landscape is too perfect to pass up, and your photographer’s eye is already framing the shot in your mind. But Sia isn’t having it.

She lets out an exaggerated sigh, crossing her arms as she stares at you. “Come on, Yn, don’t start your photography now. We came here for a vacation, not a work assignment. Keep your job aside for once!”

You chuckle, shaking your head at her dramatic display. “Babe, look at this place! It’s a breathtaking natural scene. I’ll get a bonus if I send these pictures to my boss.”

Sia huffs and looks around, clearly still sulking. But then, something—or rather, someone—catches her eye. She narrows her eyes like a cat about to pounce. Without a word, she starts striding towards two familiar figures.

You watch as she makes a beeline for none other than Taehyung and his friend, the very same guys from the airport. Just as Taehyung is about to pass by her, Sia subtly sticks her leg out in his path. He notices just in time and skillfully avoids tripping, though the move doesn’t go unnoticed.

Taehyung shoots her a sharp glare, but Sia, ever the flirt, just winks at him. “Did you really fall for me that you had to follow me all the way out here like a stalker?” she teases, her voice dripping with mock sweetness as she steps closer.

Taehyung scoffs, crossing his arms over his chest. “Darling, don’t flatter yourself. I wouldn’t fall for a cab thief,” he retorts, his tone just as biting as hers.

Before things can escalate further, the other man, sensing the tension, clears his throat, trying to diffuse the situation. “Maybe let’s not start a fight in the middle of this beautiful place?” he suggests, his voice calm but firm.

Just then, you catch up to the group, noticing the familiar faces. The other man turns to you with a friendly smile. “Hi, I’m Jeon Jungkook,” he says, offering his hand.

You smile back, shaking his hand. “Nice to meet you, Jungkook. I’m Jung Yn.”

Jungkook nods, clearly noting the shared surname, but before he can comment, Sia steps in, looking Jungkook up and down with an amused glint in her eye. “Junglebook, huh? What a unique name,” she quips, earning a glare from you.

You give her a pointed look, silently telling her to behave, but she just grins back at you, unrepentant. “And I’m Dr. Park Sia,” she continues, turning to Taehyung with a mischievous smile. “So, Mr. Speedy Gonzales, what brings you here? Stalking me again?”

Taehyung raises an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. “Dr. Park, huh?” he repeats, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “You must be a psychiatrist because only a mad person would treat their own brand of crazy and still act like it’s normal.”

The comment draws a round of laughter from everyone except Sia, who narrows her eyes at him. “Oh, I’m not just any psychiatrist, darling. I specialize in dealing with difficult cases,” she shoots back with a smirk. “And trust me, you’re the most difficult one I’ve seen in a while.”

Taehyung leans in slightly, his eyes sparkling with playful challenge. “Well then, Dr. Park, I guess that makes you my perfect match,” he says, his voice low and teasing.

Before Sia can respond, you step in, sensing things are getting a little too heated. “Alright, let’s not start World War III here,” you say, trying to keep the peace.

Sia huffs but relents, stepping back with a wink aimed at Taehyung. “Fine, but don’t think this is over, Mr. Gonzales.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it, Dr. Park,” Taehyung replies smoothly, a smirk playing on his lips.

You shake your head at the two of them, already sensing this is just the beginning of what’s going to be a very interesting vacation. Meanwhile, Jungkook looks at you with a sheepish smile, clearly used to his friend’s antics. You both share an amused glance, and you can’t help but think that maybe, just maybe, this trip might be more fun than you initially thought.

As the ship sails smoothly through the scenic waters, you, Sia, Taehyung, and Jungkook find yourselves sitting together, enjoying the view. The atmosphere is surprisingly relaxed despite the chaotic way you all met. Jungkook, turns to you with a curious smile. “So, Yn, what do you do?” he asks, his voice gentle and genuinely interested.

You return the smile, feeling at ease with his gentle demeanor. “I’m a photographer,” you reply. “I capture moments like these.” You gesture to the picturesque surroundings, the camera in your hand a natural extension of your passion.

Jungkook nods, clearly impressed. “That sounds amazing,” he says. “I’ve always admired people who can capture the world so beautifully.”

You feel a warmth spread in your chest at his compliment. “Thank you,” you say softly. Then, turning the question back to him, you ask, “What about you, Jungkook? What do you do?”

He smiles modestly. “I work at PRK Technologies. I’m in the design department.”

Before you can respond, Sia, who has been listening with half-interest, suddenly perks up. “And what about you, Mr. Speedy Gonzales?” she asks, her tone dripping with playful sarcasm as she directs her gaze at Taehyung.

Taehyung grins, clearly enjoying the attention. “I’m an actor,” he replies smoothly, his voice full of confidence.

You blink in surprise, not expecting that answer. “Really? What movies have you been in?” you ask, genuinely curious.

Taehyung’s grin widens. “I debuted in ‘Hwarang,’ and I’m currently working on some music videos and upcoming films,” he says, his tone casual but with a hint of pride.

You nod, impressed by his achievements. “That’s really cool, I didn’t expect to meet an actor here.” you say, admiration clear in your voice.

Sia, who has been quietly observing Taehyung, suddenly speaks up. “So, which company are you contracted with?” she asks, her tone skeptical as if she’s testing him.

Taehyung leans back in his chair, his eyes gleaming with amusement. “Hybe,” he replies, his voice confident.

Sia lets out a small chuckle, crossing her arms as she leans forward. “Are you sure? Because I don’t think they’d be too impressed by just your looks,” she says, her words a playful jab.

Taehyung chuckles, his gaze locking with hers. “Darling, people are dying to get just one glimpse of me,” he says smoothly, his tone flirtatious and teasing.

Sia fires back with a smirk. “Too tough? Nah, I just have standards. But hey, if you ever need a reality check, I’m here all week.”

Everyone bursts into laughter, the tension from earlier completely dissolved. Even Taehyung has to admit he’s met his match in Sia, who’s grinning like the cat that got the cream.

Once the laughter dies down, Taehyung turns to Sia, his expression curious. “So, Dr. Park Sia, what’s your specialty?” he asks, his tone respectful despite the earlier banter.

Sia, for once, responds politely. “I’m a neurosurgeon,” she says, her voice calm and collected.

Taehyung nods, clearly impressed. “A neurosurgeon? That’s incredible,” he says, his tone genuinely amazed.

Sia just shrugs, downplaying her accomplishment, but there’s a glint of pride in her eyes. “It’s what I do,” she says simply.

The conversation continues, the four of you exchanging stories and getting to know each other better. Despite the initial tension and playful jabs, there’s a sense of camaraderie forming among you, and you can’t help but feel that this unlikely group might just make this vacation one to remember.

The night is serene as the four of you sit on the deck of the ship, the dark sky above scattered with twinkling stars. The calmness of the moment is a perfect contrast to the earlier chaos. You take in the view, feeling a sense of peace wash over you. But soon, your photographer's instincts kick in, and you decide you can’t miss the opportunity to capture this beautiful scene.

“I’m going to grab my camera,” you say, getting up from your spot.

The others nod, and you make your way to the side of the ship, positioning yourself to get the perfect shot. But as you shift your weight to adjust the angle, your foot slips on the wet deck. Before you can even process what’s happening, you lose your balance and tumble over the railing, plunging into the cold sea below.

The shock of the icy water hits you hard, and you immediately start thrashing, panic setting in as you realize you can’t find your footing. “HELP!” you scream, your voice trembling with fear. “HELP!”

Back on the ship, everyone springs into action. Sia jumps up, her usual confidence shattered by the sight of you struggling in the water. Jungkook doesn’t hesitate for a second. He dives in after you, cutting through the waves with strong, determined strokes.

Taehyung and Sia lean over the railing, their faces pale with worry as they watch Jungkook reach you. He grabs hold of you, pulling you close to keep your head above water. “It’s okay, I’ve got you,” he says, his voice calm despite the chaos.

With a few powerful strokes, Jungkook manages to bring you both back to the side of the ship, where Taehyung and Sia help haul you back onto the deck. But as you lie there, soaked and shivering, your eyes remain closed, your face eerily still.

Sia’s panic reaches a new level. “YN! YN, WAKE UP!” she shouts, her voice trembling as she drops to her knees beside you. “SOMEBODY GET A DOCTOR!”

Taehyung’s usual smirk is nowhere to be seen as he crouches beside you, his eyes filled with concern. Sia’s frantic shouts echo in the night air, her composure completely shattered. “Yn, p-please, open your eyes-s!” she cries, her voice breaking.

But then, to everyone’s immense relief, you start to cough, sputtering as you try to sit up. Taehyung quickly supports you, helping you lean against him. Your eyes flutter open, and you manage a weak smile. “Bish, you’re a doctor,” you rasp out, your voice hoarse but laced with your usual sass.

Sia blinks, still in a state of shock. “Yes, yes, I’m a doctor,” she mutters, before looking around in a daze. Then she locks eyes with Taehyung, her panic replaced by a confused expression. “What should I do?”

The absurdity of the situation hits everyone at once. Despite the tension, laughter bubbles up. Even Taehyung, who had been so serious moments before, can’t help but chuckle. “I think you’ve already done enough, Dr. Park,” he teases, his smile returning.

Jungkook, who had been retrieving a towel, comes back over and gently wraps it around you. “Here, this should help,” he says softly, his voice full of care. He gives you a reassuring smile, his usual calmness returning.

You let out a tired laugh, feeling both embarrassed and grateful. The tension dissipates as everyone starts to relax, the laughter bringing warmth back to the cold night air. Even Sia, who had been the most panicked of all, eventually joins in, shaking her head at her own reaction.

“I guess I’m better in the operating room than on a ship,” she jokes, earning more laughs from the group.

The night air is warm as the four of you stumble into a club after an evening filled with laughter, drinks, and dancing. The atmosphere inside is lively, the dance floor packed with people swaying to the beat of the music. You and Sia are no exception, the alcohol in your systems fueling your carefree spirits as you move together in sync, lost in the rhythm.

Jungkook, sitting at a nearby table with Taehyung, watches with a soft smile as you and Sia let loose on the dance floor. But his smile quickly fades when he notices two men, clearly drunk, making their way over to you. One of them, eyes glazed over, starts to close in on you, his intentions far from innocent.

As the man inches closer, he reaches out to touch your waist. Jungkook’s protective instincts kick in immediately. He stands up, his expression darkening as he strides over to you. Just as the stranger's hand is about to make contact, Jungkook grabs his wrist in a firm grip.

“Back off,” Jungkook says, his voice low and dangerous.

The drunk man blinks in surprise, trying to pull his hand away, but Jungkook doesn’t let go. Instead, with one swift motion, he knocks the man down, sending him sprawling onto the floor. The other man, seeing this, hesitates, but one look at Jungkook’s fierce glare is enough to send him running.

You barely register what just happened before you turn and see Jungkook standing there, his expression softening the moment he meets your eyes. Without thinking, you throw yourself into his arms, your drunken state making you feel both safe and giddy.

“Jungkook!” you exclaim, your words slurring slightly as you hug him tightly. The warmth of his embrace only intensifies the fluttering in your chest.

Sia, who had been dancing nearby, suddenly lets out a dramatic cry. “Why did you leave me, Yn?!” she wails, her voice filled with exaggerated sorrow as she watches you cling to Jungkook. “And why are you hugging that Junglebook?” Without warning, she stumbles over, determined to join in on the hug.

But before she can reach you, Taehyung intercepts her, catching her by the arm. Sia wiggles in his hold, her pout deepening as she tries to break free. “You can’t separate me from my best friend!” she protests, her voice petulant.

Taehyung smirks, clearly amused by her antics. Without missing a beat, he scoops Sia up and throws her over his shoulder, earning a surprised squeal from her. “Let’s get you to bed, Dr. Park,” he teases, carrying her effortlessly towards the exit.

Sia, still wiggling, continues to protest. “I’m not ready to sleep! I need my best friend!”

Taehyung chuckles but doesn’t relent. He turns to Jungkook, who’s still holding you close. “I’ve booked four rooms at the hotel,” Taehyung says, his voice light but firm. “Here are the keys. You take Yn to her room, and I’ll handle this one.” He pats Sia’s back affectionately.

Jungkook nods, accepting the keys with one hand while keeping his other arm around you. “Got it,” he says, his voice steady despite the alcohol coursing through his veins. He then lifts you into his arms, your head resting against his chest as he carries you out of the café and towards the hotel.

When you reach your room, Jungkook gently lays you down on the bed, brushing a few strands of hair from your face. He’s about to leave when you suddenly grab his arm, pulling him back. Before he can react, you smash your lips against his, the kiss catching him completely off guard.

Jungkook hesitates for a split second, but then he gives in, returning the kiss with equal passion. His hands find their way to your waist as he deepens the kiss, the world around you fading into a blur. The heat between you builds quickly, and soon he’s rolling you over on the bed, his fingers brushing the hem of your t-shirt.

But just as he’s about to lift it, something stops him. Even through the haze of alcohol, a voice in the back of his mind tells him to slow down. He pulls away slightly, his breathing heavy as he looks down at you, your lips still parted from the kiss.

You whine in protest, your hands moving to his shirt, but Jungkook gently catches them, stopping you. “Yn… we should wait,” he murmurs, his voice thick with restraint. “I don’t want to do anything we’ll regret later.”

Despite your drunken state, something in his tone makes you pause. You nod, understanding his hesitation even if the alcohol makes you want to ignore it. Jungkook sighs in relief, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead before pulling the covers over you.

“Get some sleep,” he whispers, brushing your hair back one last time. He watches as your eyes flutter closed, your breathing evening out as you drift off. Only then does he quietly slip out of the room, heading back to his own, his heart still racing from the intensity of the moment.
